You will learn to identify some of the
characteristics of plants that are caused by adaptation.
Computer with internet access and printer, pencil,
colored pencils or crayons
Plants stay in one place their whole lives. They can't
go looking for water
or sunlight.
So what happens to plants that start to grow in unfamiliar
places? They either die out or they ADAPT
to their surroundings.
Take a look at some ROOTS.
There are some great PICTURES
of stems and leaves. Think: what do stems do? |
Now see if you can discover some of the differences
between leaves, stems and roots of plants that live in different environments.
How do the plants make sure that they can get
enough water? How do they control their exposure to the sun?
Check out these habitats and their plant populations.
